From The Glyph Project
A Glyph Page is a page that covers one hieroglyph.

Page Naming
Glyph pages are kept in the "Glyph" namespace, and hence, all glyph page names begin with the prefix "Glyph:".
After the prefix, glyph pages are named using their encoding in the The Centre for Computer-aided Egyptological Research's Hieroglyphica. For signs that don't appear in the Hieroglyphica, a convention will need to be developed. (Do as you see fit with such signs for now, but please bring up the issue in this page's discussion page so that it can be addressed.)
So, for the glyph

Content
Glyph pages should include a representation of the glyph as soon as it can possibly be provided. For most common glyphs, a representation of the glyph can be inserted using the <hiero> tag. To use the <hiero> tag, simply enclose the tag's Gardiner's Sign List code in opening and closing <hiero> tags, like this:
<hiero>A1</hiero>
This will appear as follows:

This symbol should appear at the top of the page. (For more information on how the "hiero" tag is used see the WikiHiero Page on MediaWiki.)
Among items that editors should be actively looking to add to glyph pages are a description of the glyph (what is this a picture of?), phonetic value(s), usage notes, further images of the symbol on different mediums and in different scripts, and possibly some common words the symbol appears in (images and possibly links to a page about the word). Effort should also be made to categorize the glyphs.
This is not to suggest that all these things need be added at once, but rather, to give an idea what kind of content may be useful to further develop a description of the glyph.
Citing Sources
Wherever possible, source citations are also important. If the source is from original research then cite your publication. If you do not yet have such research published, then you may feel free to cite a website, or to reference a user subpage. (Feel free to use your user pages and subpages for developing ideas.) Insights resulting from collaboration on a talk page may not need to be cited so distinctly, but such collaboration should remain available for review. (Perhaps even eventually moved to a user subpage and then cited.)
The idea behind the wiki is to promote creativity, so we hope that people will run that idea. Alien conspiracy theories and the like, however, are not what this site is about. We don't want to see such ideas take up a significant portion of this site, nor do we want such theories to be promoted as fact.
